The Ultimate Eldar challenge!

I'm calling anyone and everyone that plays Eldar to participate in what I'll call "The Ultimate Eldar Challenge"...What is all of this about? Well...

Yes, the Ultimate Eldar Challenge. This is where I call all of you to make and submit the WORST possible Eldar army list you can think of for the points value of 1850. I will then take the very worst out of all of the lists and play it in an upcoming RTT and post battle reports. If I win with the list (place top 3) then the person who submitted the list will get a prize.

Rules:

To enter, simply post your army list (max of 3 per person-and please reply to your original post to keep it tidy) into the comments box, you have until February 25th. After the deadline, I will confer with some friends to pick the top 3 "worst" lists and then put a vote to you guys, the readers. After the "worst" list is determined, I will get the army set up and ready to play in an upcoming RTT and post the battle reports of my games the following week (time permitting) and we can all have a good laugh.

    1. This is actually a decent list, imo!

    2. I was about to say the same thing.

    3. It was half meant to be. I read your blog posts on Wraithguard, and a lot of people think that they're not worth their salt in any sort of capacity. Using this, I was hoping to try and fool people into picking it due to the WG and the unnecessarily costly foot councils, when they actually picked a half-decent list that could do reasonably well :P

However, since some of the other lists are probably much worse in some people's eyes, I doubt it'd have worked.

  3. HQ:
Autarch (Laser Lance, Reaper Launcher, Mandiblaster, Eldar Jetbike) 155
Farseer (Runes of Warding, Runes of Witnessing, Spirit Stones, Eldar Jetbike, Doom, Fortune, Guide) 205

    TROOPS:
12x Guardian Jetbike Squadron (w/ 4 Shuriken Cannons, Warlock [Singing Spear, Embolden]) 357
12x Guardian Jetbike Squadron (w/ 4 Shuriken Cannons, Warlock [Singing Spear, Embolden]) 357

    FAST ATTACK:
Vyper Squadron x3 (Missile Launcher, Shuriken Cannon, Holo-Field, Spirit Stones, Star Engines, Vectored Engines) 465
Vyper Squadron x2 (Missile Launcher, Shuriken Cannon, Holo-Field, Spirit Stones, Star Engines, Vectored Engines) 310

    Total - 1849

Fast as all get out, but with a core of Guardian Jetbikes, really fragile. (It's like modern Dark Eldar but not as good) And the strangest Autarch ever..

Notes: I tried to strike a fine balance between having a definite lack of scoring units, having plenty of Kill Points on the table available for the enemy to get, while trying my absolute best to ensure that the list has absolutely no way to deal with anything with an Armor Value. The list has no attack over str. 5 (8 reaper launchers), the only saves better than a 4+ are on the Autarchs and the Dark Reapers, and it has no ability to ignore armor saves in close combat. Also, there are no Exarchs, so as to limit flexibility as much as possible.

You, sir, have my best effort before you.

Slightly different take on the list. One less kill point, one more scoring unit, but the list now has no attack greater than strength 4, and no AP value lower than 5.

  7. I would play half the lists posted.

If you want a bad list, and the worst one possible here you go:

I got this one in the bag

    1. I agree with you Blackmoor, some of the lists are decently playable lol...Even yours might be playable still since Farseers can still do some damage to tanks with Eldritch Storm and Wych Blades and Vypers are pretty decent lol... This will be interesting to see what else people come up with... =)

  8. Here my first try:

    Autarch with banshee mask
    Autarch
    Storm guardian x20
    Storm guardian x20
    Wraithguard x4
    Wraithguard x4
    Wtaithguard x4
    Swooping Hawks x10 - Exarch
    Swooping Hawks x10 - Exarch
    Swooping Hawks x10 - Exarch
Wraithlord with sword and shuriken catapults x3

You have 2 scoring unit, six unit with wraithsight and no psiker, and 13 kill point.

  9. Okay, here is my list:

    HQ:
01 x Farseer, RoWit, Stones, Mind War, Guide = 125 pts
    09 x Warlock, Conceal, Spiritseer = 414 pts

01 x Farseer, RoWit, Stones, Mind War, Guide = 125 pts
    09 x Warlock, Conceal, Spiritseer = 414 pts

    Troops:

    01 x Warlock, Embolden, Spiritseer = 36 pts
    10 x Wraithguard = 350 pts

    01 x Warlock, Embolden, Spiritseer = 36 pts
    10 x Wraithguard = 350 pts

Pretty simple.. This is a very slow army with only 4 footslogging units and crap range. Almost every psyker has a power from which they don't benefit (except guide and mindwar, but the farseers will be avoiding the usage of them because they want to run instead, hoping to catch something in cc where they actually might do some damage). The guards are a bit tougher to drop but a few blasts should do magic. :)
Anyway, the point is... If you face aaanything not exclusively focused on CC the enemy should be able to shoot you off the table before you even get the chance to get close to them due to concentrated fire upon those few units of yours.. :)
    Good luck! :D

  10. Asurmen

12 Guardian Jetbikes (6x). Add 3x shuriken cannons total to get to 1850.

Yes, it's low on killpoints and high on scoring troops. However, the list only has six shots above strength 4, no defense against assault or tank shocking, nowhere decent to put the HQ, and too many models to even hope to hide from the enemy. Strategies with this list would include reserving out and praying you don't come in until turn 5, and turbo boosting around the entire game.

Comes to 1850pts on the nose. Bolter fire alone could destroy everything in this army, let alone common things like auto-cannons, missile launchers, assault cannons and all that other good stuff.

    Total - 1850pts

    Bodycount: 83 (2 Autarchs, 12 Exarchs, 18 Guardian Crew, 3 Warlocks, 48 Aspect Warriors)
Highest Strength Ranged Weaponry: Vibro Cannons @ Str6
Highest Strength CC Weaponry: Everything @ Str3 or Witchblades @ Str9 vs Vehicles
    Best AP value: 5
    Best Common Armour Save: 4+
    Highest Unmodified Toughness: 3
    Total KPs: 17

There might be enough squads to make sure something survives, but then again, no squad apart from the Vibro Cannons has more than 5 models in it, no squad apart from the Autarchs (if they're alone) has a save better than 4+ until there is only one model and the Exarch/Warlock left in it.

No vehicles to speak of, the Vibro Cannons have to be placed very carefully to avoid hitting your own units (of which there are many)and you have a maximum potential of 18 S6 hits per turn, with a minimum of 3 and an average of 10.5. If one Vibro squad dies, that becomes 12, 2, and 7, and if another dies, 6, 1 and 3.5. If any Vibro Squad loses a cannon, it's relegated to Str5, then 4. They can't move to upper levels of ruins, are automatically swept if they lose combat to a unit capable of sweeping...

The most you can do with shooting against any Necron vehicle is Immobilise it. A dreadnought automatically wins if it gets into combat with any unit apart from the Vibros (if they still have their Warlock) and the Hawks (thanks to haywires). The most your Vibro Cannons can do with shooting against any non-open topped vehicle is destroy a weapon, and it will ony stun the majority of vehicles on a roll of 5, 66% of all its penetration rolls can only shake against anything that isn't open-topped.

Perhaps you could still win against some armies, but you're relying on 3 BS3 units to shake vehicles to death, and Hawks with haywires to do anything more, with the Support Weapon Warlocks helping out if they get into combat with one. The only other units capable of hurting most vehicles are the Avengers shooting in the rear, or the Autarch's/Banshees shooting pistols in the rear.

  14. Most of you guys are bad at this, although Blackmoor almost has it nailed. I'm not 100% certain on this, you might be able to make it a bit worse by swapping the weapons around, but I think Starcannons are worse than Bright Lances (minimal ability to hurt tanks, even if they are better against heavy infantry.) Also, technically this is only 1842 points, so if you're a real stickler on that issue you could add some extraneous upgrades- Singing Spears on the Farseers seem like the best choice. Note that the Vypers not only overpay for upgrades but fail to upgrade for a decent second gun and have many redundant abilities. And, to make things better, the whole army is only nineteen models strong with eight T4 scoring models.

    1 Farseer (135)
Jetbike, Spirit Stones, Runes of Witnessing, Eldritch Storm

  16. Behold gents: teh faildar.

This list is guaranteed to have more fail than a Matt Ward codex has Sisters snuff porn.

The basic premise: a gimped Iyanden theme list that relies on failing its wraithsight rolls to lure the unsuspecting opponent into support weapon range.

While advancing the opponent will be required to run a terrifying gauntlet of potshots from the pathfinders (unless they're carrying a flamer) and template/grenade attacks from the fearsome swooping hawks, personally led by Baharroth, the "specialest" of a very "special" bunch of HQ units we know as the Phoenix Lords.

But what, you ask, if the enemy should do the impossible, making it past your unassailable position of D-Cannons to engage your wraithguard in assault? Well fear not, as the Hand of Asuryan and his "specialised" poorest-of-poor-man's assault unit will be lying in wait to unleash a devastating counter-charge!

The crazy thing is, if you roll well enough on your wraithsight and manage to slow your opponent down with the harrassment elements, this army might just pull out a fluke win or two.
