Are the new Eldar ballanced/okay for general and tournament play?

Time to grab your torches and pitchforks everyone-the new Eldar codex is out and it is going to break the game! Or is it? Indeed, there is a heated debate brewing over how broken or not broken the new Eldar codex is and I wanted to take some time to discuss the issues of Eldar being "OP" and why I don't think Eldar are actually "OP" either in the older codex or this new one.

New Eldar, what's new?

With the new Eldar codex out, I thought I'd give my initial thoughts and impressions on the new Eldar. This first part will look at the overall codex with later parts going over individual units and formations.

New Eldar, New 40k: We're not in Kansas anymore!

While still dealing with the changes 7th edition brought, we now also have a new codex thrown into the mix. This post will discuss how things used to be, where we are today and what has changed/needs to change as we build our army lists in today's gaming environment.

Gundam+Tau=Win!?

I've always liked the concept of a Tau Crisis suit army but never quite liked the aesthetic of the Tau Crisis Suit. I have, however, always loved the aesthetics of the Gundam Zaku II suit and decided to try and either convert the current Tau suit to look like a Zaku or find appropriately scaled Gundam figures to use as Crisis Suits...This post will cover my recent labor of love, a Tau Crisis Suit army made from Gundam Zaku figures and kits!

So I've expressed my dismay and disappointment with the recent Tyranid Codex but now I'd like to express the way I think the codex should or could have been written to be a solid, fun and better army. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you guys think!

Tyranids...Why you so fail?

The Tyranids are out and the gaming community is quite polarized in terms of it either being total utter garbage or thinking that "it isn't so bad." Well, having played Tyranids competitively since before the year 2000, back when 2nd edition was transitioning into 3rd, I think I know a thing or two about how to play/win with Nids and why they were so good before and why they are so bad now...Yes, I believe the new codex is so utterly and completely bad I wand to scream and below are the reasons why I think GW totally and completely got Nids wrong-AGAIN.

Feast of Blades: The end and some gaming philosophy

With the final day of gaming completed and a pleasant night out on the town in Denver with my wife, I think the trip out to Feast was a worthwhile adventure in gaming, fun and introspection. This post will cover more of how I did, how I felt with Eldar/Tau and the meta along with some philosophical food for thought.

Delays and more delays!

So I'm currently sitting at the terminal of John Wayne Airport in Orange County awaiting my (delayed) flight to get to Denver Colorado for this year's Feast of Blades tournament. I thought I'd take advantage of the free Wi-Fi to post a bit about my tournament army/aspirations and what rock I've been hiding under!
